Des has a new mini crib pillow! He’s finally old enough to where I feel safe letting him sleep with a pillow in his crib, especially a little one. We found that it helps him sleep better at night to have something to snuggle up on besides a stuffed animal. I let him pick out the fabric he wanted, and he chose this adorable animal print from Riley Blake Fabric.
I wanted to add a little extra detail to the pillow and decided to add piping around the edges. It’s been a really long time since I added piping to anything, but I had this fancy new cording foot attachment for my Baby Lock Evolution serger and gave it a whirl. It made attaching the piping so much easier, and it even serged the edges as it sewed on the piping. So fun! I need to tweak the sewing process a little bit, so I plan to make another pillow before I create a tutorial for you to make your own!
The pillow was a big hit! Des slept on it last night for the first time and loved it. He’s been sick the last few days, but only woke up once last night! The pillow worked like a charm!
