The next project I tackled was a bench cushion for baby’s room.
We got an Expedit bookcase from Ikea, and Zachary attached Besta legs (also from Ikea). Since it’s made out of particleboard, he had to carefully drill holes in the bottom of the bookcase for the legs. My job was to make the cushion…
This cushion was a lot easier to make than the glider cushions. The longest part of the project was cutting out the strips of fabric for the piping and attaching it to the top and bottom pieces. It took some finagling to sew the piping around the corners, but overall it was a pretty simple project.
We plan to fill the bookcase with some books and toys for baby to play with when he starts crawling around. It’s all starting to come together!
Just wondering where you got the passing for the cushion from? And how did you attach the seat to the shelf/bench? Screwed in?
Looks great, good job both of you 🙂
UGH I meant PADDING**** lol sorry!
Thanks! The padding in the cushion is from Joann fabrics. It’s the green high density foam you see in big sheets, and they can cut it down for you in the store. I didn’t attach my cushion to the bench; it’s just sitting on top of the bookshelf/bench.
The genius store callde, they’re running out of you.
