I got a late start on decorating for Christmas this year, but I think I’ve managed to spread a little of the holiday cheer around the house. I stopped by a local nursery and picked up some Christmas tree limb scraps that they had piled out by the road. Yay a free “Christmas tree!” I was really tempted to buy one of their mini Christmas trees, but quickly reminded myself that I would only kill it with my black thumb. Maybe next year, I’ll be more ambitious. So our tree this year consists of limbs delightfully arranged in a glass jar. It works!
So, I’ve recently noticed a lot of people in the blogging world spray painting tea cups, mugs, vases, etc. gold. Until yesterday, I was able to resist, but the Cuban in me, that loves shiny things, finally gave in. I bought some votives at a local craft store, taped them with painter’s tape and had some fun with my gold spray paint. It was the perfect, quick DIY project for this tired new mama.
I love them! And I love the tree in a jar idea 🙂 Great way to have that fresh pine smell in the house without the mess – brilliant idea!
