It feels a little strange having to switch gears from sewing for a little boy to sewing for a little girl, but as it turns out the transition was a lot easier than I imagined! Sewing for this baby girl has been so much fun!
Over the holidays while Des slept, he shared his Gramma with me, and she showed me how to make the sweetest little dress for Baby Kate. We took her Rosie’s Dress pattern and altered it (twice) to be small enough to fit an infant. It’s the cutest, smallest little dress I’ve ever seen! I can’t wait to dress Baby Kate in it!
I absolutely love this corduroy fabric by Elizabeth Olwen! I bought a few yards of it a while back, thinking I would make a little dress out of it for Kate, and a matching skirt out of it for me, but that is something that will definitely have to wait until next fall when I no longer have a baby bump!
The corduroy dress turned out so cute that I decided to make another one. This time, I used the Secret Forest fabric from Dear Stella’s Enchanted Collection. Is it not the sweetest! This one is slightly smaller, and the skirt is not as full as the corduroy dress. We’ll see which one fits better, then I plan on making a few more of these!
Who knew sewing for baby girls would be as much fun as everyone claimed it would be!
weeeeee!!!!! Sewing dresses :-)))
