Baby boy crib sheets

When people hear that I made my own crib sheets, I tend to get this “are you crazy” look.  Why make your own sheets when you can buy them?  Here’s why: They’re super easy and fun to make, plus you can choose whatever fabric you want!  (Don’t get me wrong, I plan to have some plain white store bought sheets as well.  I keep hearing I’ll need more than just one crib sheet…)

I wanted sheets that would match my chevron “arrow” fabric from Spoonflower and mrshervi had this cute gold polka dot fabric to match.  The cool thing about Spoonflower is you can order your fabric design on different kinds of fabric.  Their organic knits are super soft!

I used Dana’s crib sheet tutorial from Dana Made It.  Her instructions are clear and easy to follow.  (She has a lot of cute ideas for boys that I can’t wait to make!)

Don’t you love the way the polka dots look!  Plus, they go perfect with the chair cushions!

Next up for the nursery is a changing pad cover… Making a pattern for the curved sides should be fun! I’m waiting on more fabric samples from mrshervi’s collection to come, so I can decide which ones to use.

  1. If you make a few ‘drool pads’ to pace under this baby boy’s head you won’t have to change the sheet nearly so often!
