We’re still waiting on this baby boy to arrive… He must be perfectly comfortable where he’s at! While we wait, here are some pictures of the finished nursery.
The baby’s room isn’t very big, so I didn’t want a ton of clutter everywhere. (For those of you that know me, this was a super difficult task…) We picked out this Babyletto crib pretty soon after we found out we were expecting. We liked it’s simple, modern look.
I knew I wanted a reading bench under the window with toys and books for when baby starts to crawl around and found tons of ideas out there just by searching Google. Many people had used either the Lack or Expedit bookshelves from Ikea, and we went with the Expedit one. You can read more about the bookshelf bench and cushion for the nursery here.
The Jenny Lind changing table was actually used in our kitchen for the last five years as a shelf for the record player and cookbooks. We found it at a thrift store in town for a really good deal and couldn’t pass it up. The previous owners had painted it a dark green color, so we repainted it white to match the rest of the furniture.
The changing pad cover was made using my tutorial and the fabric is from here and designed by pellerina. (I have a really hard time not buying more of her fabrics!) If you remember, the fabric for the glider cushions are also pellerina designed. You can read more details about the glider cushions in my previous post from a few months ago.
The crib sheets are also handmade. You can find out more about them in this post.
I always have a hard time deciding what to hang on the walls around the house. However, when I saw these animal prints by Sharon Montrose, I knew they would be perfect! Have you ever seen such a cute monkey? Or bear? Or fox? We had the hardest time deciding which ones to pick.
Choosing the paint color for the room was the most difficult part of decorating the nursery. Grays can be so difficult! I didn’t want a blue gray or a green gray or a beige gray…. I wanted gray. The lighting in the room and the orangish wooden floor played a big part in the color we chose. We ended up going with Edgecomb Gray from Benjamin Moore, but we had them lighten the color 25%. It turned out perfect! My mom calls it baby elephant gray. (Thanks Mom for all your painting… and repainting when I changed my mind!)
Aren’t the little hedgehog and fox adorable! My mother-in-law made both of them back in the summer. The hedgehog is totally her design, but the little fox and his trousers/jacket are designed by Cynthia Treen and the pattern came from Magpie Patterns.
The Spanish blocks are made by Uncle Goose. I love that they have so many different languages available!
How about this awesome pillow? Another Evy Hawkins creation and all done by hand! I can’t imagine how many hours she put into stitching out all these cute critters and that amazing tree!
This sweet knitted blanket was also made with love by baby’s great-grandmother. We love this beautiful blanket and can’t wait to wrap baby in it!
So there you go! We love our simple, sweet nursery. All we need now is baby!

It’s perfect! I love it!!

Can’t WAIT to “use” that rocking chair!!!
I love it all! From the colorful chevron print on the rocker, to the woodland animals on the shelves, to the hand embroidered pillow.

Gorgeous nursery! Your baby’s room is really beautiful! I’m expecting a baby boy, and I loved the wall art so much that I want it in my boy’s nursery too! Could you tell me what was the picture’s size that you ordered? Thank you very much! And congratulations for the baby, and your incredible taste!
